The car tracks straight down the road and steering is nice and direct. The car starts first turn, idles cool and steady, pulls hard and without hesitation, shifts perfectly smooth, and brakes straight and effectively. The car runs and drives extremely well. The car sounds great it's quiet at idle and cruising, but the 327 sure makes its presence known when you get on it. Magnaflow mufflers appear relatively new. The underbody appears to have been professionally undercoated at some point and it has served its purpose. Please take a look through the underbody photos, as it's documented in detail. Speakers have been fitted in either side of the dash, as well as just behind the driver and passenger. Dash pad has no cracks, warping, or discoloration. Upgraded stereo (JSD-20158) with both AUX and USB inputs is functional. Wipers work, all lights and signals are functional as well. R12 air conditioning is not functional though the components are present. Heat and fan are functional (on every setting but high). An aftermarket tachometer has been mounted on top of the column, which is functional. There is only about 300 miles on the rebuilt motor. Odometer reads 86,405 though true chassis mileage is unknown. The only real signs of age or wear in the interior is the black carpet, which shows some fraying underneath the driver's floor mat. Door panels are free of any kicked-open markings. Please defer to the photos/video, but there are no significant scuffs or blemishes throughout the interior. Glass and light lenses are all clear and crack-free. Goodyear Eagle GTII tires are in great shape all around, with minimal wear and no dryness, though we are not positive as to their manufacturing date. Rally wheels are in great shape, with no oxidation or damage. Paint was done to a high standard, with no visible run, peeling, or anything of the sort. While the car was originally Matador Red, it now wears a respray in an excellent-looking orange/red. Every single blemish is shown close-up and under direct sunlight. Please see the video along with the listing, as the car is shown in detail. As the car sits now, it's a very nicely-sorted, well-presented example in need of nothing more than an owner who will use and enjoy it. Over the course of his ownership the car saw quite a bit of going-through, having had a fully rebuilt and lightly modified 327ci V8 and a TH350 automatic transmission swapped in. We purchased this fantastic '68 El Camino from a gentleman in Michigan who had owned the car for about the last five years and had purchased it from a long-term owner in Pennsylvania.
